Trapani and the Egadi Islands

Itinerary:

  • Tour leader all day
  • Boarding from the Port of Trapani
  • Visit to Levanzo and Favignana
  • Free time for lunch and swimming
  • Return to Trapani in the evening

Just in front of the Trapani coast, the Egadi islands stand out on the sea. A little Italian gem. Here the blue of the sea seems almost unreal, too intense to be true, but it is true. Crystal clear waters, breathtaking seabeds, very fine beaches, this incredible Mediterranean paradise never ceases to amaze.

The archipelago can be easily reached in one hour of navigation from Trapani. They were dominated for years by the Arabs, who have left an indelible mark on the culture, language and even the cuisine, which will surprise you with its strong, aromatic, intoxicating flavors. The three islands are Levanzo, Marettimo and Favignana. Each has its own particularity and for this reason it is worth visiting them all.

  • Levanzo and  Favignana

The smallest and least known is Levanzo, the first we reach. However, this island contains a priceless treasure, namely the Grotta del Genovese. It is a prehistoric cave, with cave paintings dating back to a period between 10,000 and 6,000 years ago. You can book a guided tour, which takes place by boat or off-road vehicle.

We then continue to the largest and most touristic, Favignana. Upon arrival you will be amazed by the beauty of the sea, which is so transparent as to show the seabed in every detail. Given the small size of the island, which is mostly flat, we can take advantage of it for a ride on a bicycle or moped, to discover its beautiful beaches, or discover all the endless coves of the coast by renting a boat.

Return to Trapani in the late afternoon.

  • Marettimo

The wildest and most enchanting of the three. Unspoiled to the point that in winter it is almost impossible to find accommodation. It is also the farthest from Trapani, to visit the whole coast with the typical Sicilian Gulet, we must dedicate a whole day to it.
