A Taste Veneto project
Three intense days, for small groups, by private minivan and tour guide
From the vineyards of the great wines of Valpolicella to the ancient oil mills of Valpantena through very different climatic and geological zones, immersed in fascinating landscapes, among tangible ancient memories to share stories and emotions with some prestigious producers of local food and wine excellence, without neglecting the beautiful and cultured Verona that we will also be able to enjoy by night.

An exclusive two-day itinerary through splendid Veronese Hills rich in history, beautiful landscapes, Unesco heritages and unspoiled rural areas will allow us to meet some of the creators of the “Veneto food and wine miracle”, to grasp its “secrets” and taste its “delicacies” involving all five senses
To get to know villages full of charm and food and wine specialties, walk among vineyards and olive groves surrounded by the scents of nature.
To taste excellent products made by prestigious local niche producers firmly anchored in Veronese traditions but at the same time sensitive to research and discovery, who will accompany us in person, step by step, to help us discover their world and experience it together.
To purchase the tasted delicacies directly from the producer and find them at home upon return without any problem…we’ll take care of it.
Itinerary:
Day One: The culture of wine.
Pick up at Venice Mestre Station, Venice Marco Polo Airport, Verona or Padua Station, or other locations upon request.
Our itinerary begins Verona, visiting the Santa Marta Provianda complex, located in the Veronetta district in the historic center of the city of Verona. A historic palace that in the mid-nineteenth century was a “bread and galette production center” for the entire Austrian army engaged in Italy and now houses a Verona University Departmentfor land development).
In mid-morning we will move to San Pietro In Cariano., a municipality located in the center of Valpolicella Classica, a splendid Veronese valley famous for its five Amarone crus that tell in every glass the wonders of each of the five sub-valleys that make it up by winding parallel to each other from north to south.
We will be welcomed in a famous gourmet Pastry Shop adhering to the EAT VENETO network where the multi-decorated owner (Master of the Excellence Team, conferred by the International Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate Federation, and a great protagonist in various national competitions on panettone), in addition to letting us taste the delicacies she prepares in her “strictly” on-sight laboratory, will tell us about one of the “Most Beautiful Villages of Italy” in the Veneto region.
We continue our morning by visiting the nearby Villa Lebrecht(a splendid Venetian villa dating back to the 1400s) where the first branch office in the Veneto region of the University of Verona’s degree course in viticultural and oenological sciences and technologies was recently established, where young wine experts that will bring winemakers a breath of modernity in both quality management and sustainability processes.
For lunch, we will move to Fumane(wide variety of landscapes: in the lower level expanses of vineyards along with slopes of olive trees and pine forests, in the hills cherry orchards and orchards, and in the mountainous part forests and meadows), where we will do
acquaintance with a family of “niche” winemakers who for four generations have dedicated themselves to the cultivation of vines and the production of excellent wines, handing down from father to son an exceptional experience of the land and the secrets of the art of making wine.
The current winemaker, who has taken the reins of the winery together with his wife since 2010 and is part of the EAT VENETO Network, will passionately tell us his story and his way of conceiving wine in order to succeed in offering “ancient” and “modern” red wines, DOC and IGT, both “immersed” in the family tradition and “inspired” by it.
In a splendid cellar full of oak barrels, we will be able to taste the excellence of the company, including through targeted “vertical” tastings, pairing them with typical products of the local cuisine, such as, for example, “Cotechino e Pearà,” and, if we wish, we can also have unusual experiences, such as “gentle gymnastics,” to learn how to eliminate pain without using drugs.
After settling in at the hotel for a short relaxation, we will dine in the evening at a restaurant of the EAT VENETO Networkin the center of Verona, with spaces overflowing with products like a bottega and as cozy as an osteria. We will be looked after by true professionals who like to be as transparent as their open kitchen, where the preparation of dishes is always expressed, in an atmosphere of relaxation and history, tasting a menu linked to tradition and a wine list that looks at the genuineness of the production of the winemakers and other producers from Veneto who are members of our network.
Overnight, return to hotel and overnight stay.
Day Two: The Culture of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Grezzana, in Valpantena, divided from Valpolicella by a wonderful chain of gentle, green hills where DOC vineyards and expanses of olive groves follow one another.
Here we will visit a prestigious family-owned olive oil company of the EAT VENETO Network, with a wide national and international reach, which founds its origins in the late nineteenth century and has marked its production processes under the banner of total SUSTAINABILITY (in fact, BIO wines such as the award-winning Amarone and a Valpolicella DOCG of both organic and vegan quality are also produced by the company).
Accompanied by the owners we will visit the farm observing the entire production cycle, which starts with the totally manual harvesting of the olives and ends with the bottling of the extra virgin olive oil. The OLIO evo GARDA DOP produced is distinguished by its naturally delicate flavor, the harmony of its organoleptic notes and the light, balanced aromas that give it a natural elegance.
In nearby Mezzane di Sotto (25′ transfer), we will visit an old oil mill restored by the company using the original stone millstones, a visit that will be followed by lunch at the adjacent splendid inn on the same property.
Mid-afternoon return to Negrar relaxation.
In the evening we will reach nearby Verona for a Gourmet Dinner at a prestigious historic restaurant followed by a walk to discover the many souls of Verona.
