Italy is the country of the Medieval Villages, born when the only law was the one that was in force within the walls, a long period that transformed Italy and divided it into thousands of small or large municipalities, each with its currency, each with its Castle. The Italy we know today is the daughter of that period and has left us villages of unique beauty in the world and imposing castles, the setting for some of the most famous and tragic love stories.

Villages but also cities, Siena, the historic center of Bologna, Lucca, the Middle Ages have left their mark even in medium-large cities.

Italian jewels that tell a different story from the one we know, during the Middle Ages, the so-called dark age, architecture and art reached very high peaks and rich and noble families competed to grab the best artists. The life of the citizens was worth very little, but the artistic and cultural heritage of that historical period is impressive and has marked the following centuries. It is no coincidence that despite being a small state, Italy is the country in the world with the most places that have become part of the Unesco Heritage. Here we point out some of these jewels, others you will find them in all our itineraries.

Each region corresponds to several itineraries linked to villages and castles, there is no itinerary and instead it is true that each itinerary corresponds to at least one Borgo, a Castle, a medieval jewel of rare beauty.
