We leave for a fantastic day in the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site nominated for the area’s beauty and for the harmony that man has been able to create over the centuries, with this wonderful region, made of magical castles and vineyards.
We will cross Bra, the city of pecorino cheese and visit in Pollenzo, the Slow Food University of Taste, the only one of its kind in the world. Following the rolling hills of Barolo, we will stop in the Barolo Castle to start tasting the products of the region. We will continue through the fabulous landscape to Alba, the town of truffles and Barbaresco, where we will stop for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will visit Canelli and the underground cathedrals where the famous sweet sparkling wines are produced, and then we will move to Monferrato in Nice, the city of gastronomic excellence that can be tasted in a short but surprising tour of the inns concentrated in the wonderful old town.
Last stop of the day is at an infernot in the Monferrato Casalese area. An infernot is a small underground room dug into sandstone and perfect for aging wine. Each infernot is an extraordinary work of art, here we will be visiting and tasting.
In the evening return to return to Turin, but with the desire, we are sure, of a slower and longer trip in this wonderful region.
